Job Responsibilities of Transport Incharge

Job Location: Ghatkesar, Telangana

College Experience is must.

  • Transport Operations & Scheduling
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor daily bus routes covering students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ensure timely arrival and departure of buses as per the academic timetable.
  • Optimize routes for efficiency, fuel saving, and safety.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all vehicles comply with RTO, traffic, and college regulations.
  • Maintain valid documents (registration, insurance, fitness, permits, pollution certificates, etc.) for all vehicles.
  • Conduct periodic safety inspections and ensure fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and emergency tools are available in every bus.
  • Arrange training and regular instructions to drivers and cleaners on safe driving practices.
  • Vehicle Maintenance & Records
  • Oversee preventive and routine maintenance of buses.
  • Maintain logbooks for mileage, fuel consumption, and repair history.
  • Coordinate with mechanics/workshops for service, repairs, and breakdown management.
  • Manpower Management
  • Supervise drivers, cleaners, and transport staff.
  • Prepare duty rosters and manage shifts.
  • Conduct disciplinary measures, counseling, or reporting in case of misconduct or negligence.
  • Student & Staff Coordination
  • Maintain updated lists of students and staff availing transport facility.
  • Address grievances/complaints regarding transport services.
  • Ensure proper communication with students, staff, and parents during delays or emergencies.
  • Finance & Budgeting
  • Monitor fuel consumption and control pilferage.
  • Assist in preparing transport-related budgets and control expenses.
  • Maintain records of transport fees collection (if applicable).
  • Emergency Handling
  • Act as the first point of contact during accidents, breakdowns, or road emergencies.
  • Ensure alternative arrangements are made immediately to avoid inconvenience.
  • Liaison & Reporting
  • Liaise with RTO, insurance companies, service centers, and government authorities for compliance.
  • Submit regular transport reports to administration/management.
  • Recommend improvements in transport policy and operations.
  • Policy Implementation & Discipline
  • Ensure drivers follow college rules, traffic regulations, and maintain proper behavior with students.
  • Prevent unauthorized use of college vehicles.
  • Monitor punctuality and discipline in all transport staff.
  • Other Responsibilities
  • Coordinate for transport during special events, exams, industrial visits, and emergencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of staff and student data related to transport.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Principal/Administration.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹11, ₹30,487.34 per month
