Responsibilities:

• Experienced in managing third party, external vendors and contractors, holding them accountable and also tracking milestones with them closely.
• Successful delivery of large software development programs in an Agile development organization.
• Working collaboratively with cross functional and cross divisional teams to meet defined goals and objectives, as part of overall roadmap and program delivery
• Work with vendors, stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop detailed work package definitions, budget, resourcing plan and implementation plan
• Drive collaboration and teamwork to execute the plan and monitor progress against the plan
• Must be able to do lead project team responsible for design and implementation of key technical components, frameworks, interfaces
• Leadership of a highly technical staff assigned to a program team as technical subject matter experts
• Engage all stakeholder groups to create project teams responsible for the development, testing and operational handover of systems.
• Create and maintain detailed level program plans, risk registers, and other program office deliverables
• Carry out effective and proactive risk, issue & change management
• Works independently and seeks creative solutions and alternatives to unusual and difficult problems
• Conduct Risk Planning with Mitigation and Contingency plans and manage project risks
• Provide accurate and timely status reporting for internal and external customers
• Manage project forecasting of allocated resources and overall budget
• Capture and report on performance metrics with respect to team productivity, quality and customer satisfaction
• Work with various areas of the organization within and outside the Engineering including project members, management, vendors, and other business groups to understand requirements, approach and solution.
• Provide status reports and deliver presentations to leadership and project stakeholders
• Keeps abreast of current Project Management trends in areas of expertise
• Proficient working experience with Microsoft Project

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, a related subject area, or equivalent experience

Experience:

• 3+years prior experience coordinating tasks with a limited group of people, with people management responsibilities in an Engineering environment, delivering successful software development programs utilizing both Agile and DevOp's Development methodologies in a complex business/technical environment.

Technical Requirements:

• Knowledge of telecommunication or networking or satellite communication is an asset
• Strong program management and negotiation skills, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment are musts.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills – including oral/written communications, relationship building, collaboration, negotiation and conflict mediation – across a broad range of levels in the organization.
• Experience with iterative agile development and continuous software delivery best practices
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, able to balance multiple projects and tasks, complete them successfully, and within timelines
• First Degree or equivalent in Computing Science, Software Engineering or related technical discipline
• Strong interpersonal skill and oral and written communication skills
• Experience of implementing and controlling change Management
• Project planning, forecasting & reporting to project stakeholders
• Highly proficient in Jira, Business Intelligence and Reporting industry standard tools
• Ability to travel internationally if need be
• Program/Project Management Certifications; PMP, ITIL, Prince2
• Knowledge of satellite communications
