Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design for data center projects from concept through construction.
  • Prepare and review detailed engineering documents including single-line diagrams, load calculations, schematics, and equipment layouts.
  • Perform and oversee design calculations for power distribution, grounding, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, MV/LV systems, lighting, and other electrical infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and architectural teams to ensure integrated design delivery.
  • Interface with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal teams to finalize design parameters and specifications.
  • Evaluate and select equipment based on technical compliance, performance, and commercial viability.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC, NBC, ASHRAE, TIA-942, Uptime Institute).
  • Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize design efficiency and cost.
  • Support procurement team with technical inputs during vendor evaluations.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, GFC drawings, and perform design coordination at project sites.
  • Participate in design risk assessments, HAZOP reviews, and quality audits.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support development of team capabilities.
  • Stay updated with technological advancements in data center electrical infrastructure and design tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 10+years of experience in electrical design, with at least 5+ years specifically in data center projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems design for high-density data centers.
  • Experience in coordinating with design consultants, OEMs, and multidisciplinary teams.
