Role Summary:

We are looking for a 
Senior Robotics Systems Engineer
who can 
own the entire robotics system end-to-end
 and 
deliver a field-ready product immediately
.

You will act as the 
system owner
 — designing the architecture, integrating subsystems, leading technical execution, and ensuring the robot works reliably in real-world conditions.

This is a 
deeply hands-on leadership role
. You will write code, integrate hardware, debug failures, and drive the robot from prototype to production.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End System Architecture

• Own the 
  complete robotics system architecture
   including sensing, compute, control, actuation, power, and communication.
• Design system 
  block diagrams, data flows, control flows, and interface definitions
  .
• Define mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software interfaces across subsystems.
• Make system-level trade-offs across 
  performance, latency, cost, reliability, and manufacturability
  .

2. System Integration & Bring-Up

• Lead 
  full system bring-up
   from bare hardware to a working robot.
• Integrate perception, localization, navigation, and control pipelines.
• Debug cross-domain issues spanning 
  hardware, firmware, ROS nodes, networking, and power systems
  .
• Own 
  calibration procedures
   (cameras, IMU, timing, extrinsics).

3. Perception, Localization & Control Integration

• Integrate AI-based perception outputs into 
  real-time robotic behavior
  .
• Implement and tune:
• Sensor fusion pipelines
• Localization and navigation systems (VIO / SLAM / GNSS-assisted)
• Ensure deterministic timing, synchronization, and low-latency control.
• Define and track system-level metrics (latency, FPS, drift, accuracy).

4. Embedded, Compute & Communication Systems

• Work closely with embedded engineers on MCU compute integration.
• Define communication architectures using 
  CAN, Ethernet, UART, SPI
  .
• Own edge compute architecture:
• Node placement
• CPU/GPU/RAM utilization
• Data logging and synchronization
• Ensure robustness under 
  power variation, thermal stress, EMI, and vibration
  .

5. Technical Leadership & Ownership

• Act as the 
  single technical owner
   for the robot working end-to-end.
• Lead and unblock engineers across robotics software, embedded, and mechanical teams.
• Review system designs, wiring diagrams, code, and integration plans.
• Establish engineering discipline:
• Versioning and change tracking
• Integration checklists
• Documentation standards

6. Product Delivery & Field Readiness

• Translate product goals into 
  clear engineering milestones and execution plans
  .
• Lead lab and field testing cycles.
• Drive fast iteration based on field failures and real-world feedback.
• Ensure the system is repeatable, serviceable, and ready for pilot deployments and production.

Required Experience & Skills

• 3–4 years of 
  hands-on robotics experience
  .
• Strong background in 
  robotics systems integration
  .
• Solid understanding of:
• Sensors: cameras, IMU, GNSS, encoders
• Control systems and real-time behavior
• Communication protocols: CAN, Ethernet, UART, SPI
• Strong experience with 
  ROS / ROS2
  .
• Proficiency in 
  C++ and/or Python
  .
• Experience deploying on 
  Jetson or x86 edge compute platforms
  .
• Proven ability to 
  take incomplete systems and make them work end-to-end
  .

Good to Have

• Experience with 
  outdoor, agricultural, or industrial robots
  .
• Experience debugging robots in 
  non-ideal field environments
  .
• Familiarity with system safety, fault handling, and diagnostics.
• Experience with simulation, HIL testing, or CI/CD for robotics.
• Exposure to systems engineering practices (V-model, MBSE).
