Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Accountant at Knails & Hammer in Mumbai. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day financial tasks such as billing, filing, preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling transactions, and similar tasks. In addition, they will collaborate with other teams to ensure financial compliance and accuracy.

Experience Required:
1 to 4 years in accounting and finance

Salary expectation:
20,000 to 28,000 based on experience
(Strictly within this bracket)

Location -
Cotton Green, Mumbai

Detailed job description:

Accounts Finalization:

  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records up to finalization.
  • Prepare and manage GST returns and TDS returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct periodic reconciliation of accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Billing Management:

  • Independently manage end-to-end billing processes for both wholesale and retail business operations.
  • Utilize Tally or similar billing software for accurate and efficient invoicing.

Payment Collection:

  • Regularly coordinate with debtors for timely payment collection.
  • Ensure receivables are tracked and follow-up actions are effectively managed.

Vendor and Salary Payments:

  • Coordinate with payments team to execute payments for vendor invoices and operational expenses.
  • Oversee monthly salary processing, ensuring accuracy in calculations and timely disbursement.

Taxation and Compliance:

  • Ensure all financial transactions comply with tax laws and accounting principles.
  • Handle queries related to GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare templatized monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Provide reports as per the templatized parameters set on need basis.

General Accounting Tasks:

  • Manage petty cash and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain proper documentation of financial transactions for audit purposes.
  • Ensure that all the bills are properly filed and maintained

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related
  • Proficiency in Tally ERP and MS Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and other financial regulations in India.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills for effective coordination with team members and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
