Our site in Pune, India is seeking a Director of Data & AI to join our team. The Director is a strategic and technical leader responsible for driving data engineering, analytics, and artificial intelligence initiatives with focus in Manufacturing, Quality and Supply chain domains. This role blends visionary leadership with hands-on execution, ensuring scalable, secure, and ethical data solutions that empower business transformation and intelligent automation.  This role will report to Sr./Director Data & Emerging Technologies.

What You'll Do:

• Strategic Leadership: Partner with key business stakeholders to define and execute a comprehensive data and AI strategy aligned with business goals, primarily focusing on manufacturing, quality, and supply chain. Clear communication of strategy, progress, and impact to executives and stakeholders is critical for success.
• Data Engineering & Architecture: Architect and oversee scalable data platforms (lakehouse, data models/pipelines, knowledge graph). Ensure data integrity, availability, and security through governance and quality standards. Implement modern data architectures including lakehouse and real-time streaming.
• AI/ML Development: Lead development, deployment, and monitoring of AI/ML models. Enable predictive and generative AI use cases across customer journeys and operations. Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to build reusable AI frameworks.
• Team & Project Management: Build and mentor high-performing teams across data, analytics, and AI disciplines. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery. Promote a culture of experimentation, continuous learning, and data & AI literacy. Engage strategically with vendors as deemed necessary.
• MDM & Data Compliance & Governance: Partner with key stakeholders in MDM strategy and drive deployments on Informatica. Partner with CISO and Legal organizations to ensure compliance with global data privacy regulations. Define policies for data acquisition, processing, and usage. Support audits and assessments to maintain regulatory standards.

• A background in managing vendors and budgets.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment.
• Experience with ethical AI practices, bias mitigation, and data governance.

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years in data engineering, analytics, or AI/ML, with 5+ years in leadership roles.
• Strong programming skills (Python, SQL, R, Java) and experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), as well as MLOps and data engineering pipelines.
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP preferred), data integration tools (Informatica), and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Experience with generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks is a significant plus.
• Proven track record in delivering enterprise-level data and AI solutions.
• Understanding of manufacturing, quality, and supply chain domains and industrial processes.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Great track record of building high-performing teams.
