Manager Assembly Operations

Job Purpose: The Manager - Assembly Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing all activities related to assembly line operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are consistently met. This role involves leading a team of interns, supervisors, technicians, and assembly operators, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Management

  2. Plan, organize, and supervise day-to-day assembly operations to meet

production goals

  • Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials

  • Coordinate with production planning, quality, maintenance, and supply chain for smooth operations

  • Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, motivate, and manage assembly team members, ensuring proper training and skill development

  • Monitor team performance and provide feedback to enhance productivity and efficiency

  • Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards and customer requirements

  • Work with the Quality team to implement corrective and preventive actions for defects or process deviations

  • Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for lean manufacturing, cost reduction, and process optimization

  • Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure adherence

  • Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular inspections

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and company guidelines

  • Reporting & Documentation

  • Monitor and report KPIs such as productivity, efficiency, downtime, and scrap rates

  • Maintain accurate production records and prepare management reports

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing/assembly operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of assembly line processes, lean manufacturing, and quality management systems
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in production management software and MS Office tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
