Role Overview
The Manager Service (VFD) will be responsible for leading and managing the complete service operations for Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage Drives (MVD), ensuring seamless project commissioning, customer support, and after-sales service across industries. This position plays a key role in driving customer satisfaction, managing authorized service networks (ASP / ASC), and growing the spares and service business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the service operations for LV and MVD drives, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and adherence to service SLAs.
- Plan and execute commissioning activities for VFD-based projects in coordination with project teams.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules, condition monitoring plans, and failure analysis processes.
- Manage the ASP and ASC network: selection, onboarding, audits, capability development, and compliance with company standards.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective repairs and troubleshooting of drives at site and service center.
- Drive spares business growth through active engagement with customers and field teams, identifying spares opportunities, and managing inventory levels.
- Develop and track key service metrics: response time, resolution time, warranty costs, service revenue.
- Support sales team by providing technical expertise during pre-sales and post-sales stages related to VFD services.
- Prepare and manage service budgets, forecasting manpower, spares, tools, and training requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all service activities.
Nature of Experience:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in the service domain of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) including both Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage Drives (MVD).
- Proven track record in project commissioning of VFD systems across industrial applications such as cement, steel, textiles, power, oil & gas, or similar.
- Strong background in service support, including preventive and breakdown maintenance of VFDs at customer sites.
- Experience in repair activities of VFDs and associated automation equipment at workshop or site level.
- Exposure to ASP (Authorized Service Provider) operations management of third-party service networks, including onboarding, training, and performance monitoring.
- Familiarity with ASC (Authorized Service Center) operations, including oversight of workshop repairs, parts management, warranty handling, and service documentation.
- Direct involvement in spares sales, identifying parts requirements, creating proposals, and achieving parts revenue targets.
- Customer handling experience — engaging with key clients for service contracts, AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts), warranty claims, and technical support.
Educational Qualification & Desired Skills:
- B.E. / B.Tech – Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
- Strong technical expertise in LV & MVD drive systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, drive configurations, and automation systems.
- Team leadership and stakeholder management.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial acumen in service sales / spares / AMC business.
