own the backend of the brand
 – from raw materials to ready products on the shelf.

Role Overview

We are hiring a 
Production & Procurement Intern

to support our 
formulation, production, vendor management, and inventory

processes.

You will be responsible for:

• Handling raw material & packaging vendors
• Overseeing day-to-day production (with occasional visits to the manufacturing unit)
• Supporting new product launches from a production side
• Maintaining inventory, formulations, and costing records
• Ensuring we never go out of stock on key SKUs

This role is ideal for someone with a 
background or strong interest in cosmetic chemistry, R&D, or cosmetic production
.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vendor & Raw Material Management

2. Coordinate with existing vendors for 
   raw materials, fragrances, actives, and packaging
   .

3. Source and evaluate 
   new vendors
    on platforms like 
   IndiaMART
    and through direct outreach.
4. Request quotations, compare pricing, MOQs, and quality before finalising.
5. Maintain a 
   vendor database
    with contact details, prices, lead times, and terms.

6. Follow up with vendors for 
   timely deliveries
   , samples, and documentation (COA, MSDS, etc.).

7. Production Coordination

8. Coordinate with 
   third-party manufacturing units
    and labs for ongoing and upcoming batches.

9. Plan and share 
   batch schedules
    based on inventory requirements and sales forecasts.
10. Make 
    occasional visits to nearby manufacturing units
     to:
11. Monitor production
12. Check batch quality/consistency
13. Ensure correct implementation of formulations and SOPs

14. Track production timelines and flag any delays or issues early.

15. Formulations & Documentation

16. Maintain an organised 
    master sheet of all formulations
     for each product (version control, changes, and approvals).

17. Work closely with lab/R&D partners to:
18. Discuss new product ideas
19. Support in sampling, iteration, and stability feedback
20. Keep records of 
    trial batches, stability results, and feedback
    .

21. Support in creating 
    basic product technical sheets
     and handover notes for marketing and operations.

22. Costing & Pricing Support

23. Maintain updated 
    raw material & packaging cost sheets
    .

24. Work out 
    per-unit costing
     for each product (including RM, packaging, labour, logistics to warehouse, etc.).
25. Share cost insights to support 
    pricing, offer planning, and margin discussions
    .

26. Identify opportunities to 
    optimise costs
     without compromising quality (alternative vendors, pack sizes, etc.).

27. Inventory Management & Forecasting

28. Maintain 
    real-time stock reports
     of:

29. Raw materials
30. Packaging materials
31. Finished goods (by SKU)
32. Track consumption patterns and 
    forecast inventory
     based on:
33. Sales trends
34. Seasonality
35. Planned campaigns & launches
36. Raise 
    purchase requirements / indents
     in advance to avoid stock-outs.

37. Coordinate with warehouse/operations to keep 
    physical vs system stock
     aligned.

38. New Product Launch Support

39. Support the founder/marketing team in 
    turning product ideas into production-ready SKUs
    .

40. Coordinate samples, changes, and approvals with labs/manufacturers.
41. Ensure all 
    raw materials, packaging, labels, and compliances
     are ready before launch.

42. Maintain timelines and checklists for product launch readiness from the production side.

43. Quality & Compliance Support

44. Coordinate basic 
    quality checks
     on incoming raw materials and finished goods (visual checks, leakage, lab reports where applicable).

45. Help maintain 
    records required for cosmetic compliance
     (batches, labels, RM sources, etc.).

46. Report any consistent quality issues to the founder and manufacturing partner.

47. Process & System Building

48. Create and maintain 
    simple trackers in Excel/Google Sheets
     for:

49. RM & packaging inventory
50. Production plan
51. Vendor list & price history
52. Formulations & trials
53. Suggest process improvements to 
    reduce chaos and last-minute firefighting
    .

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves:

• Prior experience (even 6–12 months) in 
  production, R&D, cosmetic manufacturing, cosmetic lab, or related role
• OR
• Academic background / strong interest in 
  Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, or cosmetic formulation
  .

Skills & Traits:

• Basic understanding of 
  cosmetic formulations, raw materials, and stability
   (oils, butters, surfactants, salts, actives, fragrances, etc.).
• Good with 
  Excel/Google Sheets
   – comfortable maintaining trackers and doing basic calculations.
• Strong follow-up skills and ability to 
  coordinate with multiple stakeholders
   (vendors, labs, factories, internal team).
• Organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a 
  fast-paced startup environment
  .
• Ability to travel for 
  occasional visits to nearby manufacturing/packaging units
  .

Internship Details

• Type:
   Full-time Internship (On-site)
• Duration:
   3 months (extendable based on mutual fit)
• Stipend:
   As per company policy (to be discussed during interview)
• Growth:
   Strong performers may be offered a 
  full-time role in production/procurement
   post-internship.
