Key Responsibilities:

Owns problem resolution for moderately complex components, products, systems, subsystems or services with technical complexity and ambiguity increasing as experience is gained in the role. Involves minimal direct management of people, but could involve the coordination and direction of work amongst technicians and/or interns. Contributes effectively toward team goals, exhibits influence within a work group and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.

  • Identify exhaust aftertreatment 1D simulation modelling needs in collaboration with aftertreatment functional and system integration teams.
  • Plan and prioritize aftertreatment 1D simulation model development efforts to meet identified needs
  • Develop and evaluate 1D engine exhaust aftertreatment simulation models and tools
  • Collaborate with major catalyst suppliers on functional simulation model development and implementation.
  • Deploy modeling technologies to support Analysis-Led Design (ALD) in 1D aftertreatment emission solutions.
  • Train and support internal users on Cummins' 1D aftertreatment modeling tools.
  • Apply simulation software and tools (e.g., AVL-Cruise M, MATLAB/SIMULINK, Python) to support project goals.
  • Participate in engineering processes such as Pre Program Planning (PPP), Product Preceding Technology (PPT), Value Package Introduction (VPI), and Engineering Standard Work (ESW).
  • Engage with internal stakeholders and support decisions with data-driven insights.
  • Own problem resolution for moderately complex engineering problems with increasing scope and responsibility over time.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
