
Merger and Acquisition Manager

The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, executing, and integrating M&A opportunities (domestic and cross-border), corporate restructuring initiatives, and strategic investments aligned with groups long-term vision and growth strategy. In addition, he/she will also monitor business climate, trends in technology and development, and regulatory and government activities in the areas of the company's current and anticipated product and business lines.
Role & responsibilities
1.M&A Strategy and Origination
- M&A lifecycle including origination, evaluation, deal structuring, negotiations, due diligence, and integration.
- Identify potential acquisition/investment targets across relevant industries aligned with the groups strategic objectives.
- Build and maintain a strong deal pipeline and strategic partnerships.
2. Financial & Commercial Evaluation
- Perform business valuations, synergy assessments, and feasibility studies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and advisors for financial modeling, business case preparation, and risk-return analysis.
- Negotiations on transaction terms, valuation, and definitive agreements.
3. Execution and Integration
- Drive successful transaction execution: diligence coordination (financial, legal, tax, operational), deal closure, and regulatory compliance (e.g., SAST, MPS, CCI).
- Lead post-merger integration (PMI) initiatives to ensure value realization and operational efficiency.
4. Stakeholder & Board Management
- Prepare and present investment proposals to the leadership and Board.
- Partner with promoters and senior management on strategic initiatives and capital allocation decisions.
- Liaise with external stakeholders – bankers, consultants, legal advisors, JV partners, and government authorities.
5. Governance, Compliance & Risk
- Ensure regulatory compliance across domestic and international transactions.
- Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with deal structures, cross-border issues, and financial exposures.
- Monitor integration performance, post-deal KPIs, and value creation metrics.
