About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated Level 1 Network Engineer years of experience) to join our Service Assurance Operations team. This role focuses on providing first-line technical support for network infrastructure issues across enterprise customers. You will work closely with senior engineers to resolve incidents, maintain network health, and ensure uninterrupted service delivery in a global operating environment.

This position is ideal for professionals beginning their career in Network Operations who are eager to gain hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Meraki, SD-WAN, and Cloud Networking technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot incidents in enterprise customer networks.
  • Provide L1 network support for WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, and VPN-related issues.
  • Ensure swift resolution of technical incidents and restore network services according to SLAs.
  • Escalate complex issues to Level 2/3 teams while maintaining accurate incident documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to manage and resolve escalations effectively.
  • Perform routine health checks and preventive maintenance on network infrastructure.
  • Support patch management, configuration updates, and periodic service reviews.
  • Participate in service improvement plans and operational process compliance (ITIL framework).

Essential Technical Skills:

  • Sound understanding of network fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, and switching concepts.
  • Practical knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, MPLS, VPNs, and firewall basics.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Meraki network devices.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ping, traceroute, Wireshark, or SolarWinds.
  • Understanding of application layer protocols (HTTP, FTP, DNS, SSL, CIFS).
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN concepts and basic troubleshooting methodologies.

Desirable Technical Skills:

  • Exposure to managed service provider or telecom operations environments.
  • Knowledge of security devices (Checkpoint, FortiGate, SASE, Zscaler) or VPN configurations.
  • Basic scripting or automation using Python or Bash.
  • Understanding of cloud networking and hybrid connectivity (AWS / Azure).
  • Awareness of network vulnerability assessment and penetration testing procedures.
