JOB DECRIPTION FOR SALES EXECUTIVE

Job Title: Sales Executive

Department: Sales

Reports To: Showroom Manager

Job Summary:

The Sales Executive is responsible for assisting customers in selecting tiles and related products, providing product information, and closing sales. This role involves understanding customer needs, showcasing product options, and offering professional advice on tile selection and installation. The Sales Executive is expected to provide exceptional customer service, maintain product displays, and achieve sales targets, contributing to the overall growth of the showroom.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service & Sales:

  • Greet customers as they enter the showroom, offering assistance and product knowledge to guide their purchasing decisions.
  • Understand customer requirements by asking the right questions and providing tailored recommendations based on their project needs (e.g., flooring, wall tiles, bathroom tiles).
  • Present and demonstrate various tile options, including ceramic, porcelain, vitrified, mosaic, and natural stone tiles, along with complementary products like adhesives and grout.
  • Offer product samples, brochures, and detailed information on tile specifications, including durability, size, color, texture, and design patterns.

2. Product Knowledge & Consultation:

  • Stay updated with the latest trends, designs, and features in the tiles industry to provide customers with the most accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Educate customers about product features, benefits, and installation techniques, helping them choose the best tiles for their projects.
  • Assist customers in visualizing tile designs using display setups, design catalogs, or digital tools available in the showroom.

3. Sales Target Achievement:

  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets set by the showroom manager.
  • Proactively follow up with potential clients, contractors, builders, and interior designers to generate leads and convert inquiries into sales.
  • Upsell and cross-sell related products, such as tile trims, spacers, sealants, and installation tools, to maximize sales revenue.

4. Showroom Maintenance & Display Management:

  • Ensure that the showroom is clean, organized, and well-maintained, with product displays arranged attractively to showcase the variety of tiles available.
  • Regularly update product displays and samples to reflect current stock and new arrivals.
  • Monitor stock levels of popular products and coordinate with the inventory team to ensure availability.

5. Sales Documentation & Payment Handling:

  • Prepare and process sales orders, invoices, and receipts, ensuring accurate pricing and product details are recorded.
  • Assist customers with the checkout process, handling payments, and ensuring a smooth and efficient transaction experience.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, update customer databases, and provide daily sales reports to the showroom manager.

6. Customer Follow-Up & After-Sales Service:

  • Follow up with customer's post-purchase to ensure satisfaction with their products and address any questions or concerns.
  • Coordinate with the delivery and logistics team to schedule and track the delivery of tiles, ensuring timely and accurate fulfilment of orders.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally, providing solutions and escalating issues to the showroom manager if necessary.

7. Marketing & Promotional Activities:

  • Participate in showroom promotions, sales events, and marketing campaigns aimed at increasing foot traffic and sales.
  • Engage with customers through social media channels or promotional events to enhance brand awareness and customer engagement.
  • Provide feedback to the marketing team on customer preferences, popular products, and emerging trends to help shape promotional strategies.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, Master is an advantage.
  • 1-2 years of experience in sales,
  • Strong understanding of sales techniques and customer service principles.

Key Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to close deals and meet sales targets.
  • Good organizational skills, with attention to detail in sales documentation and product displays.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with POS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, with work hours that may include weekends and holidays, as these are peak times for showroom sales.
  • The role may require standing for extended periods and lifting product samples or small inventory items.
  • Regular interaction with customers, contractors, and suppliers.
