Skills: -

  • Proven expertise in large CAPEX project procurement (DRI kilns, power plant turbines, SMS machinery).
  • Strong knowledge of EPC contracts, sourcing, logistics, and customs.

Job Description:

  • To lead, plan, and execute end-to-end procurement and contracting activities for DRI Plant, Captive Power Plant, and Steel Melting Shop (SMS) projects capex items. Ensure timely availability of equipment, machinery, and services at optimum cost, while maintaining compliance, quality, and project timelines.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategy for DRI , SMS and Power Plant project requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and empanel vendors for equipment, consumables, and services (domestic & international).
  • Float tenders/RFQs and evaluate techno-commercial offers in coordination with Engineering & Projects.
  • Lead negotiations on price, delivery, warranty, and payment terms. Finalize purchase orders and contracts ensuring cost-effectiveness and value addition.
  • Monitor procurement progress against project schedule and expedite deliveries.
  • Drive cost savings through alternate sourcing, bulk procurement, and effective vendor negotiations.
  • Work closely with Project, Engineering, and Finance teams to align procurement activities with project requirements.
  • Ensure material availability as per erection, commissioning, and project execution schedules.
