Job Brief

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing essential accounting duties, including maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with financial reports. This entry-level role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations and offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth in the accounting field.

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Accountant's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Daily Transaction Processing:
• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are accurately recorded.
• Process invoices, expense claims, and payments (Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable).
• Manage and reconcile the petty cash fund.
• Reconciliation & Reporting:
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (e.g., Balance Sheets, Income Statements).
• Maintain the general ledger, performing accurate and timely entries.
• Month-End & Year-End Support:
• Assist the Senior Accountant/Manager with the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Support the compilation of necessary documentation for internal and external audits.
• Data Management & Compliance:
• Update financial data in accounting software and databases to ensure information is accurate and readily available.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations and company policies.
• Assist in calculating and filing relevant tax forms (e.g., TDS, GST/VAT, as applicable).
• Other Duties:
• Provide support to senior accounting staff on various projects as needed.
• Organize and maintain physical and electronic financial records and documents.

Requirements and Qualifications

Required

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g., B.Com).
• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role (internship experience is a plus).
