Job Description:

As an Education Counsellor at GradZest, you will play a pivotal role in assisting students who are planning to study abroad. Your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive guidance and support to students in making informed decisions regarding their academic and professional futures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to understand their academic backgrounds, career goals, and preferences.

  2. Provide personalized guidance on course selection, taking into account the student's interests, strengths, and career aspirations.

  3. Assist students in identifying suitable universities and programs based on their academic profile and preferences.

  4. Guide students through the university application process, including advising on application requirements, deadlines, and procedures.

  5. Offer support in preparing application materials, such as resumes, essays, and letters of recommendation.

  6. Stay updated on admission requirements, trends, and policies of various universities and educational institutions.

  7. Act as a liaison between students and universities, facilitating communication and addressing any inquiries or concerns.

  8. Conduct workshops and seminars to educate students on various aspects of studying abroad, including standardized tests, visa procedures, and cultural adaptation.

  9. Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve counseling services and develop resources for students.

  10. Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  2. Previous experience in education counseling, student advising, or a similar role is highly desirable.

  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students.

  4. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  5. Knowledge of international education systems, university admissions processes, and standardized tests (e.g., SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS).

  6. Familiarity with a wide range of academic disciplines and career pathways.

  7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach.

  8. Cultural sensitivity and awareness, with the ability to support students from diverse backgrounds.

  9. Proficiency in relevant computer applications and software for documentation and communication purposes.
