Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Education Counsellor to join our team in Hyderabad. This is a mid-level, full-time position requiring 4-6 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in career advising, student information systems, and communication, dedicated to driving student success through effective guidance.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Career Advising (Mandatory skill): Proven track record in providing comprehensive career advice to students and young professionals.
  • Student Information Systems (SIS) (Mandatory skill): Expertise in navigating and utilizing SIS platforms to track student progress and information.
  • Communication Skills (Mandatory skill): Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with a diverse student population.
  • Educational Psychology: In-depth understanding of the psychological principles relevant to education to support students' emotional and academic growth.
  • Crisis Intervention: Skilled in identifying and addressing immediate student crises with appropriate interventions and support.
  • Active Listening: Ability to attentively hear students' concerns, providing empathetic and effective support and solutions.
  • Interview Techniques: Proficiency in interviewing students to understand their needs, goals, and challenges for tailored guidance.
  • Guidance and Counseling Techniques: Application of various counseling strategies to foster student development and achievement.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide expert career counseling services to students and guide them towards suitable career paths.
  • Utilize Student Information Systems (SIS) to maintain accurate records and monitor student progress.
  • Develop and implement workshops to enhance student skills in career planning and decision making.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address academic, career, and personal issues.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to create supportive educational environments for students.
  • Identify and manage student crises, providing necessary interventions and referrals when needed.
  • Assist students in understanding their abilities and interests to make informed academic and career choices.
  • Continuously update counseling practices based on the latest research and trends in educational psychology and advising.
