1. Contract Review:
- Review and draft contracts, leases, and other legal documents related to property
management, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Advise on legal implications and risks associated with contractual agreements.
2. Compliance:
- Stay abreast of local, state, and federal laws and regulations affecting property management.
- Ensure the company's policies and practices comply with legal requirements.
- Provide training to staff on legal and compliance matters.
3. Litigation Management:
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, including disputes, evictions, and other litigation
matters.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary.
4. Risk Management:
- Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate such risks.
- Work with other departments to develop and implement risk management strategies.
5. Dispute Resolution:
- Mediate and negotiate disputes between the company and tenants, contractors, or other
stakeholders.
- Advise on alternative dispute resolution methods.
6. Due Diligence:
- Conduct legal due diligence on property acquisitions, ensuring compliance with zoning laws,
environmental regulations, and other legal requirements.
7. Policy Development:
- Contribute to the development and updating of company policies to align with legal
requirements.
- Develop and implement compliance programs.
8. Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, finance, and risk management, to
address legal issues affecting the business.
Qualifications:
- LLB/LLM degree from an accredited law school.
- Proven experience as a legal consultant or attorney, preferably with a focus on real estate or
property law.
- Strong knowledge of property management laws and regulations.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
