HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER – JOB DESCRIPTION (Hospital)

  • Ensure overall cleanliness and hygiene of all hospital areas including patient rooms, ICUs, OPD, corridors, staircases, lifts, and public spaces.
  • Maintain high standards of infection control as per hospital and NABH guidelines.
  • Supervise housekeeping staff across all shifts and ensure proper manpower allocation.
  • Conduct regular hospital rounds to check cleanliness and take immediate corrective action.
  • Ensure proper biomedical waste segregation and handling at all points.
  • Oversee deep cleaning schedules, discharge cleaning, and terminal cleaning.
  • Ensure correct usage of cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and equipment.
  • Provide regular training to housekeeping staff on hygiene standards, infection control, and patient-friendly behaviour.
  • Ensure soiled linen collection, safe handling, and coordination with laundry services.
  • Monitor quality and availability of linen and report shortages or issues.
  • Maintain stock of cleaning materials, consumables, and tools; ensure timely indents.
  • Supervise vendor services such as pest control, deep cleaning, and laundry.
  • Address patient, attendant, and staff complaints related to cleanliness promptly.
  • Maintain documentation such as cleaning checklists, daily reports, and audit records.
  • Prepare shift rosters, track attendance, and maintain discipline among staff.
  • Ensure proper grooming and behavioural standards of housekeeping team.
  • Coordinate with nursing, front office, and other departments for cleaning requirements.
  • Ensure washrooms are clean, well-stocked, and maintained throughout the day.
  • Monitor pantry, cafeteria, and common areas for cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, emergency cleaning procedures, and hospital policies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20, ₹30,000.00 per month
