Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of artists across multiple disciplines (concept, UI/UX, 3D, animation, VFX).
  • Establish and maintain a culture of accountability, creativity, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear direction and actionable feedback, ensuring the art team operates at industry-leading standards.

Creative Direction & Delivery

  • Define and uphold the visual style of projects, ensuring consistency across all assets and experiences.
  • Work hands-on in Unity/Unreal to prototype, implement, and polish art assets, including shader integration and optimization.
  • Create and oversee high-quality concept art, visual design documents, and mood boards to support pitches and client presentations.
  • Lead the creation of pitch decks and art decks for both internal and client-facing needs.

Process & Quality Excellence

  • Continuously improve art workflows, pipelines, and tools to increase quality and efficiency.
  • Partner with producers, designers, and engineers to ensure art integration aligns with gameplay and technical requirements.
  • Establish quality benchmarks and review cycles to guarantee visual excellence throughout the production pipeline.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to deliver cohesive, player-centric experiences.
  • Represent the art function in client discussions and stakeholder reviews, articulating creative direction and visual rationale.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, styles, and emerging technologies to guide innovation within the team.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in game art production, with at least 3 years in a leadership or art director role.
  • Multiple shipped titles across platforms (console, PC, mobile), with proven experience balancing creative ambition and delivery rigor.
  • Strong proficiency in Unity/Unreal, with working knowledge of shaders and real-time rendering workflows.
  • Broad knowledge of art disciplines including concept art, UI/UX, 3D modeling, animation, and VFX.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience creating high-impact art decks and pitch materials.
  • Demonstrated success in mentoring and motivating teams, improving workflows, and maintaining high-quality outputs under deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of the gaming landscape, visual trends, and player expectations across genres.
