Job Description

The Factory Welfare Officer is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy, and
productive work environment for all factory employees. This role involves ensuring compliance
with welfare policies, addressing employee concerns, and fostering a positive work culture. The
Welfare Officer acts as a liaison between employees and management, ensuring that the
workforce's physical, mental, and social welfare needs are met.

Responsibilities:
1. Employee Welfare:

• Monitor the working conditions in the factory to ensure they meet the required standards.

• Oversee the provision of welfare facilities such as restrooms, canteens, and drinking
water.

• Address and resolve employee grievances related to welfare, health, and safety.

• Promote a healthy work-life balance and advocate for employees' mental and physical
well-being.

2. Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and factory regulations concerning
employee welfare.

• Conduct regular safety and welfare audits and report findings to management.

• Assist in the development and implementation of health, safety, and welfare policies.

• Organize and participate in safety drills and health and safety training programs.

3. Employee Engagement:

• Organize and oversee recreational activities, workshops, and seminars aimed at improving
employee morale.

• Foster positive employee relations by being accessible and approachable to all factory
workers.

• Work with HR to develop programs that encourage teamwork, productivity, and
employee satisfaction.

4. Health and Medical Support:

• Ensure that first-aid facilities are well-maintained and accessible.

• Coordinate with on-site medical staff to manage workplace injuries and health issues.

• Provide support in case of occupational health concerns and coordinate with external
medical services when needed.

5. Record Keeping and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of all welfare activities, including attendance at welfare
meetings, incidents, and resolution of employee grievances.

• Prepare and submit regular reports on welfare issues, safety concerns, and employee well-
being to the management team.

• Monitor absenteeism and turnover rates and propose strategies to address related issues.

6. Legal and Ethical Compliance:

• Stay updated on changes in labor laws and regulations affecting employee welfare.

• Ensure the factory adheres to ethical standards in employee treatment, working
conditions, and welfare practices.

• Collaborate with legal teams to ensure all welfare policies are compliant with local laws
and regulations.



Key Responsibilities:

Education: Master's in social work, sociology or labour laws from a government
recognized institution or MBA with HR specialization.

• Experience: Must be working as a designated grade-1 or grade-2 welfare officer in any
factory, minimum 2 years of experience required.

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of labor laws, workplace safety regulations, and
welfare best practices

• People with proficiency in Gujarati would be preferred for Surat Factory.
