Key Responsibilities

  1. Safety Compliance:

  2. Ensure all construction and real estate development sites comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations and industry standards.

  3. Conduct regular inspections of job sites to identify potential safety hazards, and ensure corrective measures are implemented promptly.

  4. Risk Assessment:

  5. Perform site risk assessments and hazard analyses to evaluate safety risks and implement appropriate safety controls.

  6. Review and assess safety protocols for ongoing and new construction projects, including site-specific safety plans (SSSP).

  7. Safety Training & Awareness:

  8. Provide training for all on-site workers on safety procedures, proper equipment usage, and emergency response protocols.

  9. Develop and conduct regular safety drills, including fire drills, evacuation exercises, and first aid training.

  10. Incident Reporting & Investigation:

  11. Monitor and investigate safety incidents, accidents, or near misses, ensuring proper documentation and root cause analysis.

  12. Work with management to develop corrective actions and preventive measures based on incident reports.

  13. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Oversight:

  14. Ensure that all workers are properly equipped with necessary PPE (e.g., helmets, gloves, safety vests) and that equipment is maintained in good condition.

  15. Monitor compliance with PPE use across all site activities.

  16. Health and Safety Documentation:

  17. Maintain and update safety records, accident reports, inspection logs, and training certifications.

  18. Prepare reports for management on safety performance, trends, and any issues requiring attention.

  19. Safety Audits and Inspections:

  20. Conduct regular safety audits on construction and real estate project sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  21. Assist in safety inspections by external authorities and ensure any follow-up actions are completed in a timely manner.

  22. Emergency Response Coordination:

  23. Develop and implement emergency response procedures for each project site.

  24. Act as the first responder to any emergencies on site and coordinate with emergency services when required.

  25. Collaborating with Project Managers:

  26. Work closely with project managers, foremen, and contractors to ensure safety practices are adhered to at every stage of construction.

  27. Attend regular project meetings to discuss safety issues and provide input on safety-related matters.

  28. Monitoring Safety Equipment:

  29. Ensure that all safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, scaffolding) is available, functional, and properly maintained on-site.

  30. Conduct regular checks to confirm compliance with health and safety standards.

  31. Continuous Improvement:

  32. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, regulations, and emerging safety trends.

  33. Recommend improvements to safety programs, processes, and policies to reduce risks on-site.
