Job Title: Lead Instrument Engineer -PP (Propane to Polymers)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Responsibilities:

• Lead Instrument Engineer is a member of the project management Team who is responsible to work independently and manage a team of Engineers for overseeing the technical aspect of projects and for coordinating the project instrumentation team at the FEED, EPC to Operation phase.
• Review petrochemical projects Instrumentation system design and detailed engineering documents provided by FEED or EPC contractors, provide comments and ensure resolution. Review design documents of ESD, PLC, DCS, MMS, Fire and Gas detection system of Contractor
• Manage direct reports including managing work allocation, training, mentoring, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic. Provide input for establishing internal company policies and procedures and ensure implementation.
• Ensure the safety responsibilities for this position are carried out. Participate in HAZOP, SIL, Participate in P&ID and 3D Model review. Advise the Engineering Manager ahead of issues becoming critical and provide recommendations to improve these issues. Provide appropriate guidance as necessary regarding local legislation, codes and standard and technical requirements.
• He shall have the personality and drive to manage independently and direct and guide the team to achieve the Project objectives. In addition, he must be assertive and firm in dealing with FEED Engineer, EPC contractors and other service provides while exercising absolute control on the work. Good Exposure in LER/Satellite station Engineering phase /construction phase/commissioning phase
• Good exposure and sound knowledge in PP plant for driving all Instrumentation support to drive the project successfully. Hot Combined Feed Exchanger system, Reactor Effluent Compressor Package EM, Heat Pump Compressor Package, Heat Pump Compressor Surface Condenser, Separation System (cold box), Hydrogen Purification System, Fuel Gas Preparation System, Hydrogen Booster Compressors Package, Regeneration Tower system, Cooler Blower Fines Removal Blower Lift Gas Blower, Chlorination System, Depropanizer system, Deethanizer Stripper system, Deethanizer Rectifier, Propylene-Propane Splitter system, Solvent Recovery Column system, Propylene-Propane Splitter Reboilers/Condensers, P&ID ,PFD, HMB, Licence and coordination, PMC Coordination, FEED Contract coordination, EPC / EPCM Coordination, Initial Temporary Site Preparation activities, Coordination with Contractors & Sub-Contractors, in U&O in Fire water system, Potable water system, cooling water system, Air system, Nitrogen system, Steam generation system, chemical system, Air separation systematic.
• Coordinating with Engineering Contractor Instrumentation team in the design and detailed engineering of petrochemical projects during FEED/ EPC stages.
• Confidence to deal with individuals at all levels in the organization, Proven conflict resolution skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience in Instrumentation system design and project execution of process plants.
• Experience in large scale green field petrochemical & Refinery plants.
• Experience in Petrochemical plant Instrumentation and DCS/PLC system specification, selection, construction and commissioning.
• Experience in Concept to Commissioning total project life cycle.
• Ability to review engineering contractors design and engineering documents related to instrument system
• Expert in design codes and standards, Experience in HAZOP, SIL, Competent in field and DCS instrument system.
• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering.
• 18-27 years of experience.
