Job Title: Instrumentation Engineer

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Key Responsibilities:

• Instrumentation Engineer is a member of the project management Team who is responsible to work independently and manage a team of Engineers for overseeing the technical aspect of projects and for coordinating the project instrumentation team at the EPC to Operation phase.
• Review WTP projects Instrumentation system design and detailed engineering documents provided by FEED or EPC contractors, provide comments and ensure resolution. Review design documents of ESD, PLC, DCS, MMS, Fire & Gas detection system, MAC System of Contractors and design phase.
• Manage direct reports including managing work allocation, training, mentoring, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic. Provide input for establishing internal company policies and procedures and ensure implementation.
• Ensure the safety responsibilities for this position are carried out. Participate in HAZOP, SIL, Participate in P&ID and 3D Model review. Advise the Engineering Manager ahead of issues becoming critical and provide recommendations to improve these issues. Provide appropriate guidance as necessary about local legislation, codes and standard and technical requirements.
• He shall have the personality and drive to manage independently and direct and guide the team to achieve the Project objectives. In addition, he must be assertive and firm in dealing with FEED Engineer, EPC contractors and other service provides while exercising absolute control on the work. Good Exposure in LER/Satellite station Engineering phase /construction phase/commissioning phase.

Key Skills Required:

• Good exposure and sound knowledge engineering documents provided by FEED or EPC contractors, provide comments and ensure resolution. Review design documents of ESD, PLC, DCS, MMS, Fire & Gas detection system, MAC System of Contractors and design phase. Good Exposure in P&ID and good hold on Controlling system.
• Coordinating with Engineering Contractor Instrumentation team in the design and detailed engineering of petrochemical projects during FEED/ EPC stages till Project completion stage and start-up.
• Confidence to deal with individuals at all levels in the organization, Proven conflict resolution skills.

Qualification & Experience:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Engineering.
• Experience: years
• Experience in Instrumentation system design and project execution of process plants. Should be well versed in Simulations, PT, TT, FT, Loop check activities, familiarized in SPI - Smart Plan Instrumentation, etc.
• Experience in large scale green field, WTP plants. Experience in WTP plant Instrumentation and DCS/PLC system, Orifice Plate, Control valve, selection, construction and commissioning.
• Experience in Concept to Commissioning total project life cycle.
• Ability to review engineering contractors design and engineering documents related to instrument system.
• Expert in design codes and standards, Experience in HAZOP, SIL, Competent in field and DCS instrument system.
