Your Role

As a Legal Advisor, you will provide end-to-end legal counsel across corporate governance, fintech/payment laws, telecommunications, data protection, and compliance matters. You will be the go-to advisor for regulatory, contractual, and licensing frameworks that impact our business.

Responsibilities

• Advise management on Companies Act, RBI, NPCI, PSS Act, PPI Directions, UPI guidelines, KYC/AML regulations (Payfin).
• Advise on TRAI, DoT, DLT regulations, Telecommunication Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations (TCCCPR), IT Act, and messaging/data protection laws (Chitchat).
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements, including board resolutions, statutory filings, and regulatory approvals.

Contracts & Agreements

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts: NDAs, vendor agreements, MoUs, partnership agreements, bank contracts.
• Standardize fintech-specific templates (escrow, payment gateway, API partnerships) and CPaaS-specific templates (messaging aggregator agreements, enterprise SLAs, interconnect agreements).

Intellectual Property & Data Protection

• Oversee IP-related matters: copyright, trademarks, and service agreements.
• Ensure data protection compliance under IT Act, 2000, upcoming Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act), and GDPR-equivalent obligations.
• Provide legal input on consumer protection laws, especially in B2C communication contexts.

Licensing & Regulatory Liaison

• Handle licensing under NPCI (TPAP, PA) for Payfin.
• Ensure compliance with telecom licensing obligations, TRAI's UCC framework, and messaging regulations for Chitchat.
• Liaise with regulators (RBI, NPCI, TRAI, DoT), banks, and external counsel for approvals/clarifications.

Risk & Dispute Management

• Identify legal risks in business models and propose mitigation strategies.
• Manage litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution (both fintech and telecom-related).
• Support compliance/risk teams to ensure 360° legal coverage.

Must Have

• Strong understanding of corporate law, fintech/payment regulations (RBI, NPCI, PSS Act), and telecom regulations (TRAI, DLT, DoT licensing, IT Act).
• Proven experience in contract negotiation, drafting, and dispute resolution.
• Ability to balance compliance with business growth needs.
• Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
• High integrity, confidentiality, and a solution-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• LLB (Bachelor of Law) or LLM (Master of Law).
• 3–7 years of experience as a Legal Advisor / Counsel (preferably in fintech, BFSI, telecom, or corporate law firms).
• Experience in payments, telecom licensing, banking partnerships, and startup advisory is a plus.

Pay: ₹50, ₹100,000.00 per month
