We are a rapidly scaling fintech startup enabling businesses to streamline digital payments, collections, and payouts across India. With regulatory compliance and governance at the heart of our operations, we are seeking a Legal Advisor to guide our business decisions and ensure adherence to financial and corporate laws.

You as a Legal Advisor will be responsible for providing legal counsel across corporate governance, fintech regulations, contracts, and compliance matters. This role requires strong knowledge of Indian corporate law, RBI regulations, fintech/payment laws, and data protection frameworks. Take charge of critical legal matters, including NPCI and TPAP licensing, intellectual property, and litigation management.

You will be Responsible for:

- Advise management on Companies Act, RBI, NPCI and fintech-related regulations.
- Ensure corporate governance compliance, including board resolutions, statutory filings, and regulatory approvals.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, NDAs, vendor agreements, MoUs, partnership agreements, and bank contracts.
- Standardize and maintain templates for fintech-specific agreements (escrow, payment gateway, API partnerships, & more).
- Oversee copyright-related matters to ensure products and services comply with legal standards. Handle copyright registrations, manage disputes, and protect intellectual property rights.
- Provide legal guidance on Payment and Settlement Systems Act, PPI Directions, UPI guidelines, AML/KYC obligations, data privacy laws & more.
- Liaise with regulators, banks, and external counsel for approvals and clarifications.
- Identify legal risks in business models and transactions, propose mitigation strategies.
- Manage litigation, arbitration, or dispute resolution processes as required.
- Work with compliance and risk teams to ensure end-to-end legal coverage.

Must have:

- Strong understanding of corporate law, fintech/payment regulations, and RBI guidelines, licensing.
- Experience in contract negotiation, drafting, and dispute resolution.
- Ability to balance legal compliance with business growth needs.
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Integrity, confidentiality, and a solutions-driven mindset.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in law (LLB) or master's in law (LLM).
- 3-7 years of experience as a Legal Advisor / Counsel (preferably in fintech, BFSI, or corporate law firms).
- Experience in payments, banking partnerships, and startup legal advisory is an advantage.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹125,000.00 per month
