About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive NPD Technician to join our dynamic New Product Development team. Working remotely, you will play a crucial role in the early stages of supplement creation, supporting our NPD Project Manager and collaborating with clients and our sales team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects across various supplement formats (capsules, tablets, powders, liquid gels) within a fast-growing company.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft Formulation: Compile accurate and technically sound formulations for new food supplements based on client briefs and project requirements, considering ingredient functionality and potential interactions across capsules, tablets, powders and liquid gels.
• Client Interaction: Lead virtual project kick-off calls with clients to gain a clear understanding of project scope and technical needs and to set correct expectations for their project moving forward.
• Sales Support: Join virtual sales calls as required to provide technical insights and support to the sales team, explaining formulation possibilities and ingredient functions to potential clients.
• Ingredient Research: Research and evaluate potential ingredients for use in new formulations, considering efficacy, suitability, technical and regulatory aspects.
• Collaboration: Work closely and effectively with the NPD Project Manager via remote communication tools, providing regular updates and support on formulation tasks.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and organised records of draft formulations and related technical information.
• Client Account Management: Work from our client project portal to provide clients with regular communication and strong customer service regarding their formulation services.

About You

We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion for food science and the supplement industry. You should possess strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills suited for remote work with western teams, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Very strong or native English language skills across both verbal and written forms is essential for this role. Comfortable participating in virtual client meetings with European and US clients.
• Degree (BSc or HND minimum) in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience in a product development or technical role within the food, nutraceutical, or supplement industry is highly desirable (1-2+ years preferred).
• Experience formulating food supplements across capsules, tablet, powder and liquid gel formats.
• Good understanding of food/supplement ingredients, their functions, and basic formulation principles.
• An understanding of food ingredient regulations across EFSA (Europe) and FDA (US) disciplines.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
• Proficient in using standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite).
• High level of attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a distributed team.
