Role:
Merchandiser (Buyer)

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Sourcing

  • Work closely with designers and product development teams to create seasonal collections.
  • Source raw materials, fabrics, trims, and accessories while ensuring cost efficiency and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely sample development.

Production & Supply Chain Management

  • Plan and oversee the apparel production process, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Liaise with manufacturers to track production schedules and resolve issues related to fabric, fit, or finish.
  • Conduct quality control checks and approve final products before dispatch.

Sales & Inventory Management

  • Analyze sales data, customer preferences, and market trends to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels.
  • Work with buying and retail teams to ensure the right product mix is available at the right time.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate restocking or markdowns as necessary.

Retail & Visual Merchandising

  • Collaborate with the visual merchandising team to create in-store displays that enhance the customer experience.
  • Ensure that branding, packaging, and labeling align with company guidelines.
  • Support marketing campaigns through effective merchandising strategies.

Vendor & Stakeholder Communication

  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, factories, and internal departments.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and lead times to optimize cost savings.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure smooth delivery and distribution.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in apparel merchandising or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of fashion trends, fabrics, and garment construction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PLM systems, or other merchandising software.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with international suppliers and manufacturers is a plus.
