Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced ex-banker or senior BFSI professional to join our Banking Academy in a senior leadership role. The ideal candidate will take ownership of designing, developing and continuously enhancing our course curriculum; lead training delivery and faculty development; and manage strategic relationships with new and existing clients (banks, NBFCs, insurers) to drive business growth and institutional reputation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum & Programme Design
- Design, develop and refresh course curricula for various programmes (Retail Banking, Credit Management, Relationship Management, Operations, NBFC sales, etc) to ensure alignment with current/future industry practices and regulatory norms.
- Work with academic team / external subject-matter experts / ex-bankers to define learning outcomes, modules, case studies, assessments, certifications (e.g. NISM, other BFSI certifications) and delivery formats (online, blended, in-house).
- Benchmark with industry trends, regulatory changes, banking technology (fintech, digital banking, analytics) and incorporate into programmes.
- Set quality standards for content, ensure regular updates, ensure consistency across batches and programmes.
- Oversee development of training materials, manuals, slide decks, practical simulations (e.g. dummy bank environment, live banking processes) and e-learning content.
2. Training & Faculty Leadership
- Lead, mentor and manage a team of trainers (many of whom are ex-bankers), ensuring they are equipped with latest domain knowledge, teaching pedagogy and assessment techniques.
- Drive trainer recruitment, onboarding, continuous development (train-the-trainer programmes), performance evaluation.
- Oversee program delivery: ensure class schedules, live/recorded sessions, hands-on labs, mock interviews, role plays, bank process simulations.
- Monitor learning outcomes: through assessments, feedback, placement performance, training effectiveness metrics. Recommend improvements.
- Partner with operations / technology teams (e-learning app, LMS, live-class platform) to ensure seamless delivery and student experience.
3. Business Development & Client Relations
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders: private banks, NBFCs, small finance banks, insurance companies, financial services firms and regulatory/training bodies.
- Identify new institutional clients for training partnerships, corporate tie-ups, customised BFSI training solutions. Negotiate MoUs, service agreements, drive revenue.
- Maintain relationships with existing clients: understand their evolving needs (for frontline staff, credit officers, RM trainings), propose new courses, ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Represent Global BIFS Academy at industry forums, seminars, job fairs (e.g. tying up with banks for placements), conferences, panel discussions.
- Work closely with marketing and placement teams to position the academy's offerings, track leads, conversion, manage client feedback, ensure high placement of students into partner banks.
4. Strategy & Leadership
- Contribute to the strategic planning of the academy: recommend new programme ideas, markets, delivery models (online, hybrid), revenue streams.
- Set KPIs for training outcomes, client acquisitions, placement metrics, and monitor performance against targets.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Admissions, Placement, Technology, Marketing teams to ensure alignment and smooth end-to-end student experience.
- Maintain high standards of compliance, governance, accreditation (if any), and ethical practices in training and placement.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum
10 years
of experience in banking, financial services or insurance sector (preferably with exposure in multiple domains: retail banking, credit, operations, sales/relationship, or training & development). - Strong domain knowledge of banking operations, credit management, branch operations, digital banking, regulatory & compliance, risk management, sales/relationship management in BFSI.
- Proven experience in training design and delivery or managing a training organisation is a plus.
- Excellent client-facing skills: ability to build relationships with senior decision-makers in banks/financial institutions.
- Strong communication (written & verbal), presentation and facilitation skills.
- Strategic thinking, business acumen, and ability to drive growth, innovation and quality in education/training context.
- Educational qualification: Master's degree (in Banking/Finance, MBA or equivalent) is desirable. Certifications (CAIIB, CIBP, NISM, NCFM, etc) are advantageous.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for client engagements, training sessions, conferences.
