Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The DBA will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, availability, and security of our organization's databases. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of database architecture, backup and recovery strategies, data migration, and performance tuning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Management
  :
• Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems (DBMS) (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Monitor database performance, identify and resolve issues, and ensure database uptime.
• Perform routine database maintenance tasks including backups, restores, and replication.
• Manage database capacity planning, data growth, and scalability.
• Performance Tuning
  :
• Continuously monitor and optimize database performance (queries, storage, indexing, etc.).
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and apply fixes or improvements.
• Work with application developers to optimize SQL queries and database-related code.
• Security and Compliance
  :
• Implement and enforce database security policies to protect sensitive information.
• Configure user access controls, permissions, and encryption.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and corporate standards.
• Backup and Recovery
  :
• Design and implement robust database backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Regularly test database restores to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Respond to data recovery requests and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Database Design and Development
  :
• Design and implement efficient database schemas, tables, views, and indexes.
• Assist in data migration and database consolidation efforts.
• Participate in database and system design meetings to ensure alignment with organizational needs.
• Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain thorough documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

• Provide 24/7 database support during incidents or emergencies.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Skills
  :
• Expertise in relational database systems such as MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, database schema design, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with database replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions.
• Proficiency in database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.) is a plus.
• Soft Skills
