Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to design, implement, and manage large-scale PostgreSQL environments. The role involves ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of mission-critical systems, while mentoring junior DBAs and collaborating closely with engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases in large-scale production environments.
  • Ensure database performance, replication, clustering, and high availability.
  • Implement backup/recovery solutions and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Drive automation, scripting, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support development and operations.

Required Skills:

  • 1015 years of DBA experience (5+ years in PostgreSQL).
  • Strong expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, replication & clustering.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, Linux/Unix systems.
  • Experience with high availability tools (Patroni, Pgpool-II, repmgr, etc.).
  • Scripting/automation with Bash, Python, Ansible.
  • Exposure to cloud-native databases (AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure, GCP).

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD & Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with multi-cloud/hybrid deployments & containerized databases.
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
  • Contributions to the PostgreSQL open-source community.
