About the Role

StarOne IT is seeking a skilled L2 Storage Engineer with hands-on experience in Hitachi Storage Systems to be deployed onsite for one of our prestigious banking clients. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of enterprise storage infrastructure while collaborating across L1, L3, and OEM teams to deliver seamless service continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L2 operational support for Hitachi VSP, HUS, HNAS, and HCP systems.
  • Manage storage provisioning, LUN masking, SAN zoning, and replication technologies (TrueCopy, Universal Replicator, ShadowImage).
  • Conduct regular health checks, performance monitoring, and root cause analysis (RCA) for storage incidents.
  • Execute planned maintenance, including firmware upgrades and configuration changes, ensuring zero or minimal downtime.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, and prepare performance and capacity utilization reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT and vendor teams to drive efficient resolution and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience supporting Hitachi enterprise storage systems.
  • Proficiency in HCS, Storage Navigator, and Tuning Manager.
  • Strong understanding of SAN/NAS architectures, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and storage-based DR solutions.
  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux/Unix, VMware/Hyper-V, and backup integration tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
  • Hitachi Certified Storage Professional (HCSP) or equivalent certification.
  • ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
