
Business Development Manager

Job description:
The IT Business Development Manager owns the growth strategy for technology offerings, uncovering new clients and markets, forging strategic partnerships, and driving sustainable revenue. You'll serve as the primary bridge between clients, internal teams, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Opportunity Identification
Perform thorough market research to spot new industries, client segments, and competitive offerings relevant to IT solutions.
Business Planning & Execution
Develop and execute comprehensive strategies and account plans aimed at capturing market share, targeting key clients and partners .
Lead Generation & Relationship Management
Source new leads through cold outreach, networking, events, and referrals. Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects, clients, and channel partners.
Solution Selling & Technical Collaboration
Work with technical teams to design tailored proposals, deliver presentations/demos, and articulate the value of IT solutions to diverse audiences.
Negotiation & Deal Closure
Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and award processes to close profitable deals efficiently.
Performance Tracking & Forecasting
Manage pipeline in CRM (e.g., Salesforce), monitor KPIs (revenue, win rates), prepare regular forecasts, and report insights to leadership.
Competitive Intelligence
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to adapt strategies dynamically.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Liaise with marketing, product, finance, legal, and delivery teams to align efforts and deliver seamless client execution.
Industry Representation
Attend industry events, webinars, and conferences to generate leads, promote brand presence, and strengthen the company's network .
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor's in Business, IT, Marketing, or related. MBA is a plus upwork.
Experience: 5+ years in business development or sales in the IT sector, with a proven track record of exceeding targets prospects.
Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of IT solutions, services, and technologies; ability to collaborate with technical stakeholders.
Communication & Negotiation: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; adept at deal-closing conversations.
Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to interpret market trends, develop insights, create business plans, and evaluate.
CRM & Tools Proficiency: Experienced with CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot), Excel, and analytics tools payroll.
Leadership & Collaboration: Skilled at coordinating with cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders .
Resilience & Independence: Self-starter with high drive, endurance in fast-paced environments, and strong task-management capabilities .
Mobility: Willing to travel for client/town-level/project needs near Pune or national events.
