Job Title: Restaurant Manager Company: Greenchillyz Cafe and Catering Reports to: Area Manager / Owner Job Summary The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the cafe's daily operations and catering services. This individual will lead the team, manage operational and financial performance, ensure high standards of food quality and service, and guarantee an excellent customer experience. The manager is key to training staff, solving customer issues, and driving the restaurant's profitability and reputation. Key Responsibilities 1. Operations and Staff Management * Lead and Supervise: Manage, train, and motivate all front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) staff, including servers, kitchen crew, and delivery personnel. * Scheduling: Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts, balancing labor costs with operational needs. * Training: Onboard new employees and provide ongoing training in customer service, food safety, and company policies. * Performance: Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to foster a positive and efficient work environment. 2. Customer Service and Quality Control * Guest Experience: Ensure all customers receive prompt, professional, and friendly service. * Problem Resolution: Address and resolve customer complaints and queries quickly and effectively. * Quality Assurance: Regularly monitor and ensure the high quality of all food and beverages served, checking for proper taste, presentation, and portioning. * Ambiance: Maintain the restaurant's cleanliness, hygiene, and overall ambiance to company standards. 3. Financial and Administrative Duties * Sales & Profitability: Drive sales and manage costs to meet or exceed financial targets. * Inventory Management: Oversee inventory, including ordering supplies, conducting stock-takes, and minimizing waste. * Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on sales, expenses, and other key performance indicators (KPIs). * Cash Handling: Manage cash registers, end-of-day reconciliation, and bank deposits. * Administration: Handle basic administrative tasks using tools like MS Excel, MS Word, and email for communication and reporting. 4. Catering Services * Coordination: Oversee the planning and execution of catering orders and events. * Client Liaison: Communicate with catering clients to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction. * Logistics: Coordinate with the kitchen and delivery teams to ensure catering orders are prepared accurately and delivered on time. Qualifications and Skills Required: * Education: Higher Secondary (12th Pass) or equivalent. * Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within the restaurant, cafe, or hospitality industry. (Note: Some postings may be open to freshers with strong potential). * Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency, including MS Excel, MS Word, and email. * Soft Skills: * Excellent leadership and team-building abilities. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Customer-focused with a passion for service. * Good problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. * Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Preferred: * Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or Business Administration. * Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Restaurant Manager. * Knowledge: Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and restaurant management software. * Certification: Food Safety and Hygiene certification. Working Conditions * Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. * Requires standing for long periods and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
