Position: Senior Metallurgical Engineer

Department: Metallurgy

Reporting to: Chief Metallurgist

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct raw material inspection and manage all metallurgical laboratory activities.
  • Plan and execute daily production schedules for heat treatment processes.
  • Prepare monthly requirements for lab and production consumables.
  • Maintain equipment and instrument calibration records, including history cards.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO documentation and support ERP system activities.
  • Coordinate and support customer audits and internal quality reviews.

Qualifications:

  • BE / B.Tech in Metallurgy (mandatory).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the Metallurgy Department of a forging or foundry industry.

Key Skills & Knowledge:

  • Metallurgical Testing: Spectro analysis, hardness tests (BHN, Rockwell), grain size determination, hardenability test, macro etching & step-down tests, grain flow test, inclusion rating, NDT tests (MPI, eddy current).
  • Heat Treatment Processes: Strong knowledge of heat treatment and metallurgical inspection methods.
  • Quality Systems: Familiar with QMS, IATF 16949, EMS, CQI-9, CQI-12, APQP, PPAP, and non-conformance documentation.
  • Standards & Specifications: Understanding of ASTM, JIS, DIN, EN, and customer-specific standards related to material testing, raw materials, heat treatment, and forging.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in MS Office and general computer applications.
