House Man/House Keeping

Position Overview:

The Houseman (Housekeeping Associate) at a 4- or 5-star hotel plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. This role supports the housekeeping team by ensuring that all areas of the hotel meet the highest hygiene and luxury standards to provide an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:1. Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Maintain cleanliness in guest rooms, hallways, lobbies, and other hotel areas as per hotel standards.
  • Assist room attendants with deep cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Ensure all housekeeping storage areas and linen closets are well-stocked and organized.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests for additional amenities, such as towels, pillows, or room supplies.

2. Housekeeping Support

  • Assist housekeeping staff in moving furniture, setting up banquet rooms, or handling special requests.
  • Deliver linen, toiletries, and cleaning supplies to different areas of the hotel.
  • Dispose of trash and maintain waste management procedures according to hotel policies.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or lost-and-found items to the housekeeping supervisor.

3. Guest Service Excellence

  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor while interacting with guests.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and accommodate special housekeeping requests efficiently.
  • Ensure a discreet and respectful approach when working around guests.

4. Safety and Compliance

  • Adhere to hotel safety standards, fire prevention policies, and hygiene regulations.
  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment correctly, following safety protocols.
  • Maintain high hygiene standards and follow all health and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in housekeeping or hospitality is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, housekeeping procedures, and sanitation standards.
  • Physical stamina to lift, move, and carry supplies and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team.
