Role Overview:
The Funding & Investments Executive will be responsible for assisting in the identification, and
evaluation of potential tech startups as well as monitoring of investments in these tech startups.
This role involves working closely with entrepreneurs, analyzing business models, conducting due diligence, and managing the investment portfolio to ensure optimal returns.
Pipeline generation: Maintain relationships with incubators, accelerators, VCs, and other stakeholders to create a pipeline of deals for analysis.
Meeting Founders and shortlisting potential startups: Analyse start-ups (Founders, market, business model, and financial model) and assist Principal/ Partners on Investment decisions.
Assist/ perform due diligence on potential investments and conduct primary and secondary research on potential companies, and their references.
Assist in the preparation of Investment committee notes and work with lawyers to document investments.
Continuous analysis of the performance of portfolio companies and their competitors and keep seniors updated on the progress.
Reading, analyzing, and interpreting macroeconomic reports to help develop an investment thesis.
Prepare Presentations and assist in any communication to stakeholders of the Fund.
Assist with fundraising and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investment Analysis:
Conduct research and analysis to identify potential investment opportunities in thestartup ecosystem.
Evaluate business plans, financial statements, pitch decks, and other relevant documents to assess the viability and potential of startup ventures.
Perform financial modeling and analysis, including revenue projections, cost analysis, and valuation assessments.
Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and industry dynamics to inform investment strategies.
Interact with prospective and potential startups to provide key details about GINSERV's funding philosophy and seed fund schemes like Startup India Seed Fund Scheme and DST – Seed Support Scheme.

Due Diligence:
Assist in conducting due diligence on potential investment targets, including market
analysis, product evaluations, and customer validation.
Collect and analyze financial and operational data, such as financial statements, revenue
forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Prepare investment memos and reports summarizing findings, risks, and opportunities for review by the investment team.
Collaborate with internal teams and external experts to gather insights and validate investment hypotheses.

Investment Monitoring and Reporting:
Support the investment team in monitoring the performance of portfolio companies.
Track key metrics and prepare regular performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies to identify potential growth opportunities and risks.
Contribute to the preparation of investment presentations and materials for internal and external meetings.

Deal Sourcing and Networking:
Assist in deal sourcing activities by conducting research on startups, attending pitch events, and networking within the startup ecosystem.
Maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors, and other stakeholders to expand the deal flow network.
Stay updated on industry news, events, and emerging trends to identify potential investment opportunities.
Assist team in organizing Demo Days for the shortlisted startups.

Administrative Support:
Provide administrative support to the investment team, including organizing meetings, managing calendars, and maintaining documentation.
Assist in maintaining databases and files related to investment activities.
Contribute to other ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the investment team.
Must have skill sets – In nutshell
Manage the portfolio of invested start-ups and ensure good returns.
Manage that the milestones are met by the start-ups and assist in any further private funding through investor connections
Develop the Angel and VC network and build relationships. Organise Demo days and events for the benefit of our existing start-ups and new start-ups
Manage existing funding schemes and relationships with the agencies
Apply for new schemes of Govt. of India and related agencies offering Seed funding or grants
Must have exposure to Incubation / Acceleration as well as having worked on investments or seed funding.
Qualifications:
Education: MBA or equivalent post-graduation degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or a related field, with a focus on tech startups.
Skills:
o Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
o Excellent verbal, and written communication and presentation skills.
o Strong understanding of the startup ecosystem and technology trends.
o Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software. Exceptional financial skills, as well as analytical/strategic thinking capabilities. Knowledge of valuation methods is a plus.
o Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently.
o Curiosity, intellectual agility, and a passion for startups, entrepreneurship, and venture capital investments.
o Familiarity with the startup ecosystem, emerging technologies, and industry trends is a plus.
o Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A good negotiator, outspoken, and enjoys challenges.
o Self-driven and hands-on mentality to manage events and operations as & when needed.
