Investment Analyst / Associate

Location: Bangalore, India (or willing to relocate to Bangalore)

Reporting Line: Principal of Posspole CVC

Role Description:

As one of the first hires into Posspole CVCs investment team, youll play a critical role in shaping our deal flow, supporting investment execution, and building the foundations of our funds research and thesis development. This is a hands-on role for someone excited to grow in venture capital, with exposure to global startups, corporate partners, and investment committee processes.

Note:

This role may be hired at Analyst or Associate level depending on prior experience.

Candidates with more operating or investment exposure may start as Associates; more junior

candidates may start as Analysts.

Requirements

• 1-4 full-time years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, venture capital, or high-growth startups (e.g., BD, growth, strategy)
• Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to synthesise complex ideas into clear recommendations
• Commercial mindset with ability to spot opportunities, assess markets, and propose creative go-to-market or distribution strategies
• Curious about technology and startups, with eagerness to learn new sectors quickly
• Strong interpersonal skills and comfort engaging with founders and senior executives
• Familiar with CRM systems (like Hubspot) and research tools and databases (like

Statista or Crunchbase)

• Strong financial modelling skills in Excel/Google Sheets is desirable, but not compulsory
• Bonus: Prior exposure to VC/PE deal flow or startup fundraising
• Bonus: International experience such as prior work for global (US, European, Chinese, Japanese, Singaporean, etc) firms, studied abroad, or professional experience across multiple countries

Educational Background (Preferred):

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Preference for candidates with a technical degree (Engineering, Computer Science, or other STEM fields) who also have exposure to business/finance.
• Postgraduate qualification (MBA, CFA, or equivalent) is a plus but not mandatory for Analyst-level applicants.
• International exposure or certifications (VC University, IIM/ISB exec courses, etc.) considered an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Deal Sourcing & Screening: Identify, research, and evaluate early-stage startups across Posspole's core focus sectors (Health, Defence, Telecom, Agri/Food, Mobility, Electronics, Multi-tech). Conduct intro calls with founders and maintain pipeline tracking
• Research & Thesis Development: Conduct market mapping, competitive analysis, and trend identification. Assist in shaping investment theses in collaboration with the Principal and GPs
• Financial & Commercial Analysis: Build financial models, analyse data rooms, and assess unit economics, scalability, and competitive positioning
• Investment Process Support: Draft and refine investment memos, prepare materials for the Investment Committee, provide administrative support such as pipeline tracking, data entry, and preparation of materials for the Principal and GPs, and coordinate

diligence across technical, legal, and commercial efforts

• Relationship Building: Support outreach to founders, ecosystem partners, and co- investors. Represent Posspole at select ecosystem events and demo days
• Internal Contribution: Help codify best practices in pipeline management, reporting, and knowledge sharing as part of building a new investment platform from scratch
