The opportunity
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and manage a team of supply chain, logistics, and operations professionals.
- Foster a high-performance culture, ensuring that the team is well-trained, motivated, and aligned with the company's strategic goals.
- Provide mentorship and career development opportunities for team members.
Supply Chain and Logistics Strategy:
Develop and implement strategic plans for logistics operations, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Oversee the design and execution of supply chain networks, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution channels.
- Ensure that logistics operations meet customer expectations, including timely delivery and cost-effective solutions.
Contract Management:
Oversee the negotiation, execution, and management of supply chain contracts with clients, suppliers, and vendors.
- Ensure that all contract terms are adhered to, with a strong focus on performance metrics, service level agreements (SLAs), and compliance.
- Manage contract renewals, amendments, and dispute resolution, ensuring all parties meet their contractual obligations.
Operational Efficiency and Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process optimization across the logistics network.
- Introduce and manage technologies or software that improve operational efficiency, tracking, and reporting.
- Ensure that operational processes are scalable, flexible, and adaptable to changing business needs or customer demands.
Cost Control and Budget Management:
Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets and cost optimization.
- Analyze supply chain costs and performance data to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
- Monitor and report on operational performance against budgets, forecasts, and KPIs.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Identify and manage operational risks within the supply chain, including those related to transportation, warehousing, and delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and mitigate any potential disruptions or supply chain failures that could impact service delivery.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and service quality.
- Act as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, issues, and concerns regarding logistics operations.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement based on customer feedback and collaborate with internal teams to implement solutions.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Use data analytics to monitor performance metrics and KPIs across the supply chain.
- Produce regular reports on operational efficiency, inventory levels, transportation costs, and delivery performance.
- Present operational insights and performance reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.
Technology Integration:
Lead the adoption and implementation of new logistics technologies such as warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and other relevant tools.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in logistics and supply chain management to drive innovation.
