Role Summary
As the Senior SEO Specialist and SEO lead at Channel Fusion, you will own our search strategy end-to-end and serve as the internal head of SEO. You will lead our search presence, organic visibility, and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) across all digital touchpoints, helping Channel Fusion build durable authority and category leadership in the through-channel marketing and channel incentives space.
You will design how Channel Fusion earns trust and attention in an AI-shaped search landscape, acting as the primary owner of SEO without direct people management responsibilities, and collaborating closely with content, development, marketing, and leadership to execute an integrated Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and entity-based search visibility strategy.
You will operate as a senior individual contributor who leads the SEO function.
Core Pillars
Strategy and Architecture
- Serve as the internal owner and primary point of contact for SEO, coordinating with content, design, development, and account teams rather than managing a separate SEO team.
- Develop and maintain an SEO roadmap aligned to business goals, product launches, and campaign priorities.
- Define and evolve our Topic Cluster and Pillar Post strategy to reflect how buyers actually research through-channel marketing, incentives, and partner enablement.
- Use entity-based SEO, SERP analysis, and competitive mapping to identify opportunities for growth.
- Integrate E-E-A-T principles — emphasizing real experience, expertise, authoritativeness, and brand trust — within a broader authority strategy.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools for keyword discovery, topical exploration, and outline generation, with human oversight for accuracy and quality.
Optimization and AEO
- Create and manage search-optimized content briefs that align with user intent and business objectives.
- Collaborate with writers to ensure every page satisfies informational, commercial, and transactional intent.
- Implement on-page best practices across titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links, structured data, and media.
- Optimize for AI-driven and Answer Engine environments by structuring content around entities, questions, and clear, extractable answers.
- Support experiments in content formats (posts, guides, tools, explainer pages, resource hubs) based on performance data and SERP shifts.
Technical SEO
- Partner with developers to maintain a technically sound site architecture that supports crawl efficiency, indexation, and scalability.
- Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals, mobile performance, and overall UX signals that influence search visibility.
- Ensure correct implementation of canonical tags, hreflang (if applicable), XML sitemaps, robots directives, and URL structures.
- Identify and resolve technical issues (404s, redirect chains, duplication, rendering issues) that impact organic performance.
- Collaborate on schema markup and structured data to support rich results, entity understanding, and AEO.
Authority and Digital PR
- Design and execute an ethical authority-building strategy that prioritizes relevance, quality, and trust over volume.
- Identify and pursue high-quality guest posting, co-marketing, and partnership opportunities with relevant industry sites.
- Monitor and reclaim unlinked brand mentions, directory listings, and citation opportunities that reinforce our entity in search.
- Work closely with Director, Marketing and Content Manager to align PR, campaigns, and content launches with SEO and AEO goals.
- Continuously refine our off-site strategy based on performance, risk, and evolving search guidelines.
Analytics, Reporting, and Experimentation
- Define and track SEO KPIs tied to visibility, engagement, and business outcomes (traffic quality, conversions, pipeline contribution).
- Build and maintain SEO reports and dashboards using GA4, Search Console, and SEO tools (e.g., Ahrefs, Semrush, etc.).
- Analyze performance at the page, topic, and channel level to identify what is working and where to adjust.
- Propose, run, and evaluate SEO experiments, documenting learnings and recommendations for future iterations.
- Communicate insights clearly to stakeholders, connecting SEO activity to marketing and revenue outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end SEO strategy and execution for Channel Fusion's web properties.
- Translate business objectives into search-focused initiatives across content, technical, and authority pillars.
- Collaborate with content, design, development, and marketing to ensure SEO is embedded in planning and execution.
- Maintain a strong understanding of search trends, algorithm updates, and AI-driven changes in how answers are delivered.
- Champion best practices in Answer Engine Optimization and entity-based SEO within the organization.
- Provide clear guidance and feedback on content, structure, and prioritization to non-SEO teammates.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3-5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, including strategy and execution.
- Demonstrated success improving organic visibility and conversions in B2B, SaaS, or complex service environments.
- Strong technical SEO skills, including Core Web Vitals, indexation, and structured data.
- Proficiency in keyword research, SERP analysis, and on-page optimization.
- Experience with ethical link outreach, guest posting, and digital PR.
- Proficiency with GA4, GSC, Ahrefs, or similar tools.
- Clear communication skills and ability to explain technical insights to non-technical teams.
Preferred
- Experience managing multi-GEO or multi-language sites.
- Familiarity with WordPress, Framer, or headless CMS environments.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript debugging.
- Experience with AI-assisted SEO workflows or automation tools.
