Job Description

Identifying Procurement Needs:

Work with production, engineering, and planning departments to identify material and supply requirements.

Understand production schedules to anticipate future purchasing needs.

Sourcing and Supplier Selection:

Identify potential suppliers through market research and recommendations.

Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery capabilities.

Purchase Order Management:

Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) accurately.

Track POs and ensure suppliers meet delivery timelines and specifications.

Negotiation:

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery conditions to optimize cost and value.

Establish long-term agreements to secure competitive pricing.

Quality Control:

Ensure materials received meet quality standards.

Address issues related to defective or substandard goods with suppliers.

Inventory and Stock Management:

Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stock shortages.

Collaborate with warehouse teams to manage incoming materials efficiently.

Vendor Performance Evaluation:

Regularly assess supplier performance based on delivery times, quality, and service.

Address and resolve issues with underperforming suppliers or seek alternative sources.
