About BBNL:

Bharat Broadband Network Limited is a Special Purpose Vehicle set up under Companies Act by Government of India with an authorized capital of Rs. 1000 Cr. It has been mandated to create the National Optical Fiber Network (NOFN) in India.

A total of around 2,50,000 Gram Panchayats spread over 6,600 Blocks and 641 Districts are to be covered by laying incremental fiber. The timeline for this ambitious project is two years. The project cost is estimated to be about 20,000 Cr which will be funded by the USO fund.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Legal Expertise to join our team and contribute to our team in legal matters. As a Legal Expert at BBNL, you will be responsible for safeguarding our companys interests by ensuring that our operations comply with all relevant laws and regulations. Your expertise will guide us in navigating complex legal matters, drafting and negotiating contracts, and managing potential legal risks. and to bring best legal practices. As a part of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for:

  • Legal Advisory: Provide sound legal advice to management and other departments on a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, intellectual property, labor law, corporate governance, and compliance.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate various types of contracts, including vendor agreements, partnership deals, and employment contracts.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the companys actions are legally sound.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the company is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, staying up to date with any changes that could impact operations.
  • Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve legal disputes, including representing the company in court or during negotiations.
  • Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of company policies to ensure legal compliance and best practices.

Preferred candidate profile

3+ Years of experience.

Licensing: Licensed to practice law in corporate law.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Proficient in legal research and legal software/tools.

Education Qualification:

Mandatory: LLB or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution Preferably from top NLUs.

Desired:

  • Admitted to the Bar.
  • LLM and/or MAS and/or PhD. Degree.
  • Experience working in Law Firm. Experience in a legal counsel or legal expert role, preferably in Telecom Industry or associated area of law, e.g., corporate law, intellectual property, etc.

Additional: MBA (Legal) will be add-on.
