Inventory Manager

Role Objective:
The Inventory Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management of inventory across project sites, Head Office (HO), and guest houses. The role ensures accuracy in inventory accounting, optimum stock availability, effective control of materials and consumables, and adherence to company standards and project timelines. The position will focus on implementing best storage practices, driving just-in-time (JIT) principles, and coordinating with cross-functional teams for seamless material flow and project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Governance:
- Establish and maintain robust inventory management systems across all project locations, HO, and guest houses.
- Ensure accurate and real-time tracking of stock through GRN generation, issuance records, and reconciliation processes.
- Validate all material issues against Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Bill of Quantities (BOQs), and client-approved specifications.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and audit requirements in inventory handling and documentation.
2. Stock Health & Control:
- Conduct periodic and surprise stock audits to ensure accuracy and accountability.
- Maintain aging analysis reports, FIFO implementation, and scrap/disposal documentation.
- Monitor the health and traceability of high-value and critical materials to prevent pilferage, damage, or obsolescence.
- Manage safe and optimized storage practices at all warehouses and project sites.
3. Planning & Forecasting:
- Implement Just-in-Time (JIT) principles to minimize holding costs and improve material utilization efficiency.
- Maintain defined minimum, reorder, and safety stock levels based on historical consumption data and upcoming project schedules.
- Collaborate with the Planning team to align inventory planning with execution timelines and procurement forecasts.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Coordinate with Design & Engineering teams for material specification and requisition validation.
- Work closely with Procurement & Logistics to ensure timely dispatch, delivery, and replenishment of materials.
- Liaise with Finance for material receipt confirmations, payment processing, and cash flow planning.
5. Logistics & Inspection:
- Monitor vendor readiness and participate in factory inspections, dispatch planning, and logistics supervision.
- Ensure transportation efficiency and adherence to turnaround time (TAT) standards.
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics to optimize freight cost and delivery performance.
6. Reporting & MIS:
- Develop and maintain live dashboards showing project-wise material balances, issued vs BOQ, and movement of slow/non-moving items.
- Report material shortages, stockouts, and discrepancies proactively to management.
- Prepare periodic MIS reports and present insights for decision-making and cost optimization.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 7–10 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in construction, engineering, or project-based industries.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/inventory software, stock management techniques, and auditing processes.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multi-location inventory operations and cross-functional coordination.
