Job Purpose:

A Senior Engineer in CNC Machine Tool Maintenance (Electrical & Electronics) is

responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC machine tools' electrical

and electronic components, focusing on preventive maintenance, breakdown

maintenance, and system diagnostics to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

This role requires expertise in CNC systems, PLC programming, circuit diagrams, and

troubleshooting complex mechatronic systems to minimize downtime and maximize

machine lifespan

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and Repair:
  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical and electronic issues in CNC machines, includingcontrol panels, sensors, servos, and associated components
  • Preventive Maintenance (PM):Developing and implementing PM plans to prevent failures and ensure the longevity ofelectrical systems, often involving PLC maintenance
  • Root Cause Analysis:Identifying and addressing the underlying causes of both electrical and electronicproblems to prevent recurrence and reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
  • Systems Monitoring:Monitoring the performance of electrical and electronic systems within the CNCmachines
  • Maintenance Planning:Participating in the planning and execution of maintenance activities, including theprocurement of spare parts
  • Documentation:
  • Understanding and utilizing circuit diagrams, ladder diagrams, and CNC parameters foreffective maintenance
  • Required Skills & Knowledge
  • Technical Expertise:
  • In-depth knowledge of CNC machine electrical and electronic systems,including Fanuc and Siemens controls
  • PLC Programming:Proficiency in PLC programming and understanding of logic, particularly with Simatic S5and S7 platforms
  • Troubleshooting Skills:
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex issues in mechatronicsystems
  • Maintenance Strategy:
  • Experience in developing and implementing preventive and breakdown maintenancestrategies
  • Safety Practices:
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety practice
  • Mechatronics:
  • A comprehensive understanding of how electrical, electronic, and mechanical subsystemsinteract within a CNC machine
