Position Overview : Torrent Diagnostics is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Sales Manager to lead business development and sales operations within a designated territory. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing strategic business plans, expanding the client base, achieving sales and collection targets, and managing a high-performing sales team. This role requires strong leadership, industry knowledge, and the ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Business Development
- Develop and execute business plans and sales strategies tailored to the assigned market segments and territory.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities across hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centers, and wellness providers.
- Prepare and present project proposals to prospective clients and follow up to ensure timely progression.
Sales & Revenue Management
- Achieve defined sales and collection targets for the designated territory.
- Monitor and manage the financial performance of proposals, including duration, contribution margins, and profitability.
- Ensure timely invoicing and payment collection from clients, maintaining healthy cash flow.
Client Relationship Management
- Engage with new and existing clients to understand their needs and provide customized diagnostic solutions.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Serve as a point of escalation for service-related issues and ensure prompt resolution in coordination with internal teams.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Territory Sales Managers and other field staff within the assigned area.
- Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular reviews to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Facilitate training and development programs to enhance team capabilities and product knowledge.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions.
- Submit regular reports on sales performance, client engagement, and territory health to senior management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery and operational efficiency.
Required Competencies

- Industry Knowledge Sound understanding of the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industry.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Science, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 58 years of experience in sales, with at least 23 years in a managerial capacity within the diagnostics, pharma, or healthcare sector.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and sales reporting systems.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned territory.
