Position Overview : Torrent Diagnostics is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Sales Manager to lead business development and sales operations within a designated territory. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing strategic business plans, expanding the client base, achieving sales and collection targets, and managing a high-performing sales team. This role requires strong leadership, industry knowledge, and the ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Business Development

  • Develop and execute business plans and sales strategies tailored to the assigned market segments and territory.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities across hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centers, and wellness providers.
  • Prepare and present project proposals to prospective clients and follow up to ensure timely progression.

Sales & Revenue Management

  • Achieve defined sales and collection targets for the designated territory.
  • Monitor and manage the financial performance of proposals, including duration, contribution margins, and profitability.
  • Ensure timely invoicing and payment collection from clients, maintaining healthy cash flow.

Client Relationship Management

  • Engage with new and existing clients to understand their needs and provide customized diagnostic solutions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for service-related issues and ensure prompt resolution in coordination with internal teams.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Territory Sales Managers and other field staff within the assigned area.
  • Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular reviews to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Facilitate training and development programs to enhance team capabilities and product knowledge.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions.
  • Submit regular reports on sales performance, client engagement, and territory health to senior management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery and operational efficiency.

Required Competencies

  • Leadership Skills Proven ability to lead and inspire sales teams toward achieving business goals.

  • Interpersonal Skills Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Industry Knowledge Sound understanding of the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industry.
  • Customer Relationship Management Ability to manage client expectations and deliver superior service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Science, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 58 years of experience in sales, with at least 23 years in a managerial capacity within the diagnostics, pharma, or healthcare sector.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and sales reporting systems.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned territory.
