Reports to: Senior Barista/Café Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Junior Barista to join our coffee team. This is an entry-level position ideal for someone who loves coffee, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is eager to grow in the world of specialty coffee. You'll have the opportunity to go beyond the café and engage with coffee at origin, in training, events, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior baristas in preparing and serving high-quality coffee beverages
  • Learn, follow and prepare all brewing methods (espresso, manual brews, etc.)
  • Operate coffee equipment under supervision (grinders, espresso machines, etc.)
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and café area
  • Handle customer orders and payments with a positive and helpful attitude
  • Help in restocking supplies and ingredients as needed
  • Support the team in opening and closing duties and with time be responsible for either or both
  • Uphold hygiene, safety, and quality standards consistently
  • Represent the café's coffee values and contribute to a positive guest experience

What We're Looking For

  • Some prior experience in the hospitality industry (café, restaurant, or similar)
  • Basic knowledge of coffee (e.g. brewing methods, coffee varieties, or espresso basics)
  • A strong willingness to learn and grow in a team setting
  • Good people skills – friendly, approachable, and professional with guests
  • Excellent communication and customer service attitude
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
  • Punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail

Bonus Points

  • Hands-on experience with coffee equipment or specialty coffee service
  • Familiarity with manual brewing methods
  • Interest in coffee sourcing, roasting, or events
