Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As a Territory Manager Sales at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will be responsible for driving enquiry generation and successful conversion within the Mahindra farm portfolio, specifically targeting farmers with substantial land holdings. Your core objective will be to provide comprehensive farm mechanization solutions tailored to support various crop stages, thereby enhancing agricultural productivity.
Your role will involve forming strategic partnerships with farmers by demonstrating proof of concept and conducting hands-on demonstrations using our latest models and technology in farm mechanization equipment. This will not only facilitate trust but also serve to highlight the superior performance of Mahindra tractors and implements.
Identifying and developing new revenue streams will be essential, focusing on bundling solutions that integrate Mahindra tractors with implement product ranges to offer holistic and value-driven farming solutions. You will also play a crucial role in capacity building by upskilling laborers and tractor drivers, ensuring effective and efficient usage of farm mechanization equipment, which will positively impact farmers' operational capabilities.
The responsibilities include:
- Generate and convert enquiries for Mahindra's agricultural machinery portfolio within defined sales territories.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and partners in the farm sector.
- Organize and facilitate product demonstrations and training programs to showcase product benefits and technological advancements.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats, adapting strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align product offerings with customer needs and feedback, enhancing the overall customer experience.
- Drive revenue growth by employing innovative sales strategies, including bundled solution selling.
- Ensure accurate and timely management of sales reports, forecasts, and key performance indicators.
- Uphold Mahindra's leadership competencies by demonstrating strategic business orientation, commitment to sustainability, customer-focus, innovation, and operational excellence in all activities.

Education Qualification
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in agriculture, agribusiness, engineering, or a related field which provides a solid foundation for understanding farm mechanization and agricultural sales.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agribusiness Management, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university or institution.
- Advanced certifications or diplomas related to farm machinery, sales management, or agricultural technologies would be an advantage.
- Additional training or coursework in customer relationship management, business strategy, or supply chain management can further support the role requirements.
- A solid understanding of agricultural markets and farm operations is highly desirable.
Continuous professional development is encouraged to stay current with evolving agricultural practices, mechanization technologies, and sales methodologies.
General Experience
The general experience required for this role includes a proven track record in sales and customer relationship management, preferably within the agricultural sector or related industries. Candidates should have solid experience engaging with farmers and stakeholders, understanding customer needs, and delivering tailored mechanization solutions.
Key experience areas:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in sales roles involving agricultural equipment, farm machinery, or similar products.
- Demonstrated ability to generate leads, nurture prospects, and close deals effectively within sales territories.
- Experience conducting market research, competitor analysis, and forecasting sales to manage territory growth plans.
- Exposure to training and upskilling front-line labor such as tractor drivers or farm laborers is highly beneficial.
- Comfort working collaboratively across cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, and customer service.
- Proven competency in using CRM tools and data analytics for managing customer relationships and optimizing sales outcomes.
Experience with large-scale agricultural customers and knowledge of farm cycle dynamics will enhance effectiveness in this position.

- Proficiency in coaching or training laborers and tractor operators, improving the practical application of mechanization technologies at the farm level.

- Ability to operate with agility and accountability in a competitive agricultural sales environment, delivering results with high quality and within set timelines.
