Job Summary
The Key Account Manager will be responsible for driving business growth, profitability, and strategic alignment with national chains Mainly two of Indias largest fashion retail chains – Pantaloons and GSSBB Shoppers Stop.
The role involves end-to-end account management, sales planning, execution, and building strong relationships with the retail partners POS across India.
Key Responsibilities
1. Account Management
- Act as the single point of contact for chains at the national level.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with buyers, category managers, and store operations teams.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews with key stakeholders.
2. Sales Planning & Execution
- Drive sales and secondary targets PAN India through coordinated planning with internal teams and retail partners.
- Develop and implement annual joint business plans including sales forecasts, assortment planning and promotional strategies.
- Ensure timely execution of promotions, product launches, and seasonal campaigns
3. Merchandising & Stock Management
Coordinate with logistic and warehouse team teams to ensure optimal stock availability and timely replenishment.
- Monitor and manage sell-through rates, returns, and aging inventory.
4. Data & Reporting
- Track account-level performance (sales, growth, margins).
- Analyze sales data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions where needed.
- Share periodic MIS reports with internal stakeholders and retail partners.
5. Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with marketing, supply chain, finance, and product teams to ensure smooth execution of account strategies.
- Collaborate with regional field teams to drive in-store performance and adherence to brand guidelines.
Key Requirements.
- Experience: 5–8 years of experience in key account management, preferably in modern trade or large format sectors with exposure to retail partners like (Pantaloons, Shoppers Stop, etc.).
Skills:
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under pressure.
- Willingness to travel pan India .
