Role Summary

We are seeking a proactive and goal-oriented Academic Counsellor to be the crucial link between prospective students and our institution. This role involves serving as the primary consultant for interested individuals, providing in-depth information on our educational offerings, and skillfully guiding them through the entire admission and enrollment lifecycle. Your success will directly contribute to achieving our organizational enrollment targets and helping candidates make informed, life-changing academic choices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prospective Student Engagement

2. Initial Contact: Promptly connect with warm leads and prospective students generated through various inbound channels (e.g., telephone inquiries, emails, digital forms).

3. Consultative Selling: Act as a subject matter expert, clearly explaining program structures, curriculum details, associated costs (tuition), financial assistance options, admission criteria, and potential career paths post-graduation.

4. Relationship Building: Develop strong trust and rapport by attentively listening to prospective students' goals and delivering tailored, strategic advice that aligns with their educational aspirations.

5. Enrolment Execution & Performance

6. Admissions Flow: Provide consistent, end-to-end support to applicants, ensuring a smooth and positive journey from their first inquiry to final, successful enrolment.

7. Target Achievement: Take ownership of and consistently meet or surpass defined monthly enrolment quotas and other crucial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

8. Challenge Resolution: Skilfully manage and resolve any student concerns or objections professionally and effectively, ensuring clarity to facilitate their enrolment decision.

9. Operational Excellence & Teamwork

10. Data Management: Accurately log, track, and update all communication and progression details for every prospect within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

11. Internal Coordination: Collaborate seamlessly with the wider admissions team and academic departments to ensure a cohesive and efficient onboarding experience for all new students.
12. Market Insight: Stay fully informed about the latest institutional program updates, competitor offerings, and prevailing education sector trends to provide the most current and persuasive information.

Candidate Requirements

Essential Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional experience in a customer-facing role, such as client services, consultative sales, or tele-counselling. Prior exposure to the education or corporate training sector is highly beneficial.
• Exceptional command of verbal and written communication, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities.
• A confident, articulate individual with a proven capacity to influence decisions and successfully convert inquiries into enrolments.
• A self-driven, highly motivated professional who excels at meeting performance metrics, capable of working both independently and as a contributing member of a team.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms and standard Microsoft Office suite applications is a plus.
