Role Overview

The Retail Merchandiser will be responsible for managing merchandise planning and allocation to maximize sales, achieve optimal sell-through This role requires attention to detail, excel skills and the ability to collaborate closely with store teams and cross-functional departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Stock Reporting
  • Prepare weekly reports on stock, inventory health.
  • Generate sell-through reports for the current season and forecast trends based on product shelf life and rate of sale (ROS).
  • Stock Planning & Allocation
  • Plan and execute stock transfers and replenishments based on store sales data and product performance.
  • Consolidate articles in cut sizes to optimize inventory utilization.
  • Store Coordination
  • Work closely with store teams to understand merchandise requirements and address stock gaps.
  • Provide timely updates and ensure stores have the right product mix for their catchment.
  • Buying & Product Management
  • Manage buying for the Equipment category, ensuring alignment with market demand, seasonal trends, and brand strategy.
  • Inventory Optimization
  • Track and manage product life cycles to maintain freshness and reduce aged stock.
  • Support strategies to improve sell-through and minimize markdowns.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.
  • Ability to interpret sales trends and translate them into actionable merchandising strategies.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in problem-solving.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Merchandising, Fashion Management, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in retail merchandising, inventory planning, or category management (fashion/sports/consumer goods preferred).
